If the washer overfills and does not start tumbling, test water level switch and control panel. If the washer starts tumbling , and the inlet valve stays open, then it is either inlet valve faulty or timer board faulty. In rare occasions the problem can also be caused by a contact , in that case you replace the wiring harness. A full test is done reading volts at inlet valve. For safety reasons I suggest not doing any test that requires power on the appliance . Always disconnect power before doing mainteinance on your appliance. Parts and diagrams can be found at Sears. You will need to enter full model number: 11015942401. Let me know if you have more questions. Please do not forget to leave feedback. Thanks.
Please reply with the make and model # of the washer for more exact help - but it seems as if the timer has failed - or the water valve has failed. If the water turns off when you stop the cycle - the timer is faulty. If the water runs when the power is off - the valve (or solenoid on the valve) is faulty.Reply with the Make and Model # so I can determine the cause more precisely. Please use the "Continue With This Expert" option so we are connected in the future. Thanks!!
