If the washer overfills and does not start tumbling, test water level switch and control panel.
If the washer starts tumbling , and the inlet valve stays open, then it is either inlet valve faulty or timer board faulty.
In rare occasions the problem can also be caused by a contact , in that case you replace the wiring harness.
A full test is done reading volts at inlet valve. For safety reasons I suggest not doing any test that requires power on the appliance . Always disconnect power before doing mainteinance on your appliance.
