When our washer is done with the wash cycle, it doesn't drain the water out and so when it's on the spin cycle, the knob just ticks through it. What could be the problem for the water not draining out, a pump? Wondering if I could go get a part and fix it my self. Otherwise the washer itself still times itself through each cycle, it just only washes the clothes and unable to do the spin cycle knowing that the water is not drained out.

The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
