Maytag Washer When the washer is turned on, the water keeps running and will not shut off prior to the machine starting the wash cycle. All else works fine.
Is there a water level sensor on the machine? If so where is it located and how difficult is it to replace?

There is a water level switch on the machine. It's usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. I am not familiar with this specific machine, but if you will open the rear panel you should find it easily. You can either clear any obstruction in the tube or replace the water-level switch (easy to do it).
Another direction to be checked is the water inlet valve (my recommendation is to start with it, and if it will not solve your problem to move to the level switch )- maybe it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub.
You can easyly open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt).
Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from machine before starting working on it!!!!!
